Cuycha Innovation O's joint venture Kagisano Innovations Ltd in Botswana has agreed on new alliance with Algasol Renewables. Alliance is combining the CCN process with Algae PBRs to enhance productivity and increase water recycling by as much as 15% and to produce biomass that can deliver the feedstock for protein, fertilizers, and pharmaceuticals, among many other benefits.

The Finnish company Cuycha Innovation Oy's Carbon Capture and Neutralization technology is used in new alliance that aims to combine the CCN process with Algae PBRs. This new alliance has been made between Cuycha's joint venture Kagisano Innovations Ltd and Algasol Renewables.

Together Kagisano Innovations and Algasol Renewables are planning to develop commercial microalgae facilities on a total of 5000 ha.

"We have chosen Algasol's floating PBR technology based on their CAPEX and OPEX," said Kagisano's CEO Ilkka Nurmia. "Productivity and profitability are the pillars of Algasol's growth systems. We are enthused to bring their patented technology to the Republic of Botswana, where the government lends strong support to rural, 'green' technology initiatives. The country's environment is uniquely qualified for growing algae and since it is landlocked, we will utilize above ground ponds and trenches as the support structure for Algasol's PBRs."

Kagisano Innovations (pty) Ltd is a clean-tech developer and consultancy company in Botswana that is localizing Carbon Capture & Neutralization in Africa.

Algasol Renewables is a technology company with a unique patented technology for low-cost cultivation of micro algae for biofuels and high value products. The technology is a flexible polymer film photobioreactor (PBR) floating on water that can be deployed in ponds, on non-arable land, and in the ocean. A patent, based on density difference, in 70 countries covers key aspects of the PBR technology. Frost & Sullivan awarded Algasol Renewables the prestigious Global Algae Biofuels Award.

Cuycha Innovation Oy was incorporated in 2004 by Matti Nurmia, Ph.D. (born in 1930) for the purpose of commercial utilization of the inventions and patents held by him. Most of Dr. Nurmia’s inventions relate to energy production and environmental technologies; his most notable invention being the neutralization of CO2 (Carbon dioxide). In 2011 Cuycha received an honorable mention in Finnish Energy Industries “Climate act of the year 2011” for the CCN technology

Cuycha’s mission is to upgrade and enhance traditional industrial processes to fit modern environmental and technical requirements and to provide global solutions for cost-effective and low- emission production of energy. Cuycha’s solutions are low- and cleantech; in some cases they turn emissions into valuable byproducts. Cuycha’s main technology is carbon capture and neutralization (CCN). CCN doesn’t just store the harmful CO2; CCN changes it into a safe, stable form. And as part of neutralization the CCN process provides valuable and commercially usable byproducts.
